CropLife Philippines Hosts Informative Webinar on Mode of Action Labeling for Pesticide Dealers and Storeowners

CropLife Philippines conducted a highly informative webinar titled "Mode of Action Labeling for Pesticides Dealers and Storeowners" on February 26, 2021, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The event was livestreamed on Facebook, attracting viewers from both the Facebook platform and Zoom participants. The FPS Media PH team provided technical support for the livestream.


The primary objectives of the webinar were to educate pesticide dealers on the importance of Mode of Action (MoA) labeling, disseminate simplified information materials on MoA labeling, and solicit the support and participation of pesticide dealers and storeowners in educating farmers on this crucial aspect.


The webinar began with opening remarks from Veronica Tiburcio, President of CropLife Philippines, and Wilfredo Roldan, Executive Director of the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority. Both highlighted the significance of MoA labeling in promoting effective and responsible pesticide use.

Virracel Tumblin, Field Scientist at Corteva Agriscience, served as the moderator, ensuring a smooth flow of discussions. Dave Cristobal, Vice-Chair of the Stewardship Committee at CropLife Philippines and Regulatory Stewardship and Compliance Manager at Bayer Crop Science, Inc., introduced the keynote speaker.


Oscar Edralin, Chair of the Resistance Action Committee (RAC) at CropLife Philippines, delivered an insightful presentation on the topic. He emphasized the importance of MoA labeling in managing pesticide resistance and ensuring sustainable agricultural practices.


The session also included an interactive segment where participants could ask questions and engage with the speaker, enhancing their understanding of the topic.


The webinar concluded with closing remarks from Edilberto De Luna, Executive Director of CropLife Philippines. He reiterated the importance of MoA labeling and thanked all participants for their active involvement and commitment to educating farmers.
