Pasay City, Philippines – February 6, 2025

The DOST-Philippine Science High School System (PISAY) celebrated 27 years of innovation, dedication, and excellence in STEM education with a grand event at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City. The celebration brought together educators, researchers, students, and leaders, both in-person and virtually, to reflect on the institution’s achievements and continued commitment to advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.

Hosted by Resty Cortez and Jenny Bermudez from Philippine Science High School - Main Campus, the event highlighted the balance between tradition and innovation, nature and technology, creativity and precision. It was a tribute to the brilliant minds who have shaped and continue to shape the future of STEM in the country.

Distinguished Speakers Share Their Messages

The event featured inspiring messages from Dr. Ronnalee N. Orteza, DOST Undersecretary, Ms. Maridon O. Sahagun, and Dr. Shena Faith Ganela, former Director of PSHS-Western Visayas Campus, who all highlighted the importance of STEM education in fostering innovation and national progress.

Joining the celebration virtually were journalist Karen Davila, Senator Win Gatchalian, and DOST Secretary Renato Umali Solidum Jr., who each shared their insights and support for science and technology education in the Philippines.

A Celebration of Talent and Collaboration

The program also showcased performances by students and staff, adding a creative and dynamic element to the evening. These performances reflected the well-rounded excellence that Philippine Science High School System instills in its students, beyond just academic achievements.

A key highlight of the event was the collaboration between PSHS and "I am the Code," an initiative aimed at providing young students, particularly girls, with coding and digital skills to prepare them for future careers in technology. This partnership underscores PISAY’s commitment to inclusive and forward-thinking STEM education.

FPS Media PH’s Event Coverage

To ensure that the celebration was documented and made accessible to a wider audience, FPS Media PH (Frames Per Second Media) provided a multi-camera livestream setup, allowing more people to witness the special occasion in real time. Their team also managed photo and video coverage, capturing key moments of the celebration. Additionally, a 360-degree video booth and a photo booth with a 10-meter backdrop featuring PISAY’s 27th Anniversary branding offered attendees a unique and interactive way to commemorate the milestone.

Looking Ahead

As the celebration came to a close, the DOST-Philippine Science High School System reaffirmed its mission to nurture the next generation of Filipino scientists, researchers, and innovators. The 27th anniversary not only honored the institution’s past achievements but also set the foundation for an even brighter future, where science and technology continue to empower young minds and drive progress.
